CJN Tanko settles rift, swears-in Tsoho as Ag Chief Judge of Federal High Court

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Tanko Muhammad on Friday afternoon swore-in Justice John Tsoho as Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

The swearing-in took place after the initial uncertainty over who takes over following the retirement of Justice Adamu Kafarati on Thursday.

Kafarati retired upon attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 65.

Tsoho’s inuguration as Acting Chief Judge was suspended on Friday morning ostensibly to get President Muhammadu Buhari’s clearance.

After Tsoho took his oath on Friday, the CJN said it was statutory for the next most senior judge of the court to take over pending conclusion for the process of the substantive CJ of the court.
