What is it with CJNs and oversized ‘coats’?

There is something that doesn’t just gel with Justice Mahmud Mohammed and his successor, Justice Walter Onnoghen. Before I am accused of bad belle, let me quickly state that this has nothing to do with their long stay at the bench or pile of degrees acquired over the ages.

Folks, this piece is about the dress sense of the two highly learned fellas who, one just got retired, and the other promoted to the enviable status of Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Just take a glimpse and you would appreciate why I am so pissed.

One of the cleanest pictures you would find on the past CJN, Mohammed, is one in which he is seen clutching a hunter’s bag! And, for Onnoghen, did anyone notice how he ensured that maximum value was extracted from the entire fabric he purchased and handed over to his tailor?

While Mohammed failed to complement his great looks with a slingshot (catapult), Onnoghen’s ‘double-breasted jacket’ looks more like an oversized rain coat.

Now this, why would these fellas spend their wardrobe allowance on anything but smart jackets and trousers which are readily available even in Balogun Market? No, I am not asking them to be styled by Gucci, Chanel, Balmain, Giorgio Armani or YSL. For God’s sake, even the guys at Ariaria do great stuff. Bet that’s why they are winning contracts even from the Nigerian Army!

Here’s my piece of advice, somebody in the house must, and should insist, that these learned men, whether of the bar or bench, should dress properly before making any public appearance.

If they don’t, that would leave many of us imagining how archaic they are even in their approach to delivery of justice.

Learned gentlemen, please, get those wads of dollars off the closet and go grab some decent wear.

LOL this is a very funny one. I couldn’t help but notice their looks on live Tv.! Apparently, most men naturally pay less attention to fashion.

I honestly don’t blame them for wearing over-sized coats, they have more problems to hide which their brains cannot contain, so they simply hide it in their capacious coats.

We need their brains as justices, not fashion. Considering their positions, they look so humble in the big coats, at the same time, they look smart like fishermen though.

I think the writer of this article is insane or what. What a clueless article. There are many sensible things to write about not this.

I didn’t know you will say this.
If they had been crusing on #40m jeep, wearing #450k suits and other expensive fashion wears, people will say they are corrupt and extravagant.
There is nothing we do that can please people.
Truly the writer must be clueless on what to write.

The fabric of women is far better than the fabric of men so our men should put more effort in their fabric

Our men should get married to a woman that will make him look superb if not the careless fashion of men will remain that way
