Conte confirms Hazard is ready to play against Leicester

Chelsea Boss Antonio Conte has confirmed that Eden Hazard is available for selection for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Leicester City.

The 26-year-old forward, who underwent surgery on an ankle injury sustained during international duty, is yet to play for the Blues so far this season.

However, Hazard was recalled to the Belgium squad for their World Cup qualifiers last week and is now ready to make his Premier League return as well.

“No injury problems – some (players) could be tired, but it is normal. All the players are available and I’m happy for this,” Conte said at his press conference on Friday.

“Now Eden is available and is in the list for the game tomorrow. He is in the squad he is improving a lot. He worked very strong to be ready.

“I think now I can count on him but I have to decide the right moment and the right minutes, but for sure he is available.

“When there is a bad injury and there is surgery it is normal to pay attention to his recovery. Don’t forget Eden is an important player for us and it is important (for him) to play soon.”

Hazard scored 17 goals for Chelsea in all competitions last season, and has proven to be one of the most important players at Stamford Bridge.
