Copa America: Peru beat Uruguay on penalties to set up Chile semi-final clash

Uruguay were beaten in a shootout by Peru in a Copa America quarter-final clash on Saturday as Luis Suarez missed his penalty.

Peru won 5-4 on penalty shootouts after the match ended goalless in normal time.

The Barcelona star had a goal disallowed for offside in normal time before missing the first penalty of the shootout, as Edison Flores struck the winning kick.

Edinson Cavani also had a goal ruled out as 15-time winners Uruguay failed to convert from their 12 shots at goal.

Peru, who failed to register a shot on target during the game, now play Chile in the second semi-final on 4 July, after hosts Brazil face Argentina the night before.
