CORONAVIRUS: Lagos to bring subjects to students via TV, radio

Following the closure of schools nationwide, the Lagos State government disclosed on Saturday that it will start teaching students on the television, radio and social media.

The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, said in a statement, that the classes are targeted at the students preparing for their West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and other examinations.

The commissioner stated that eight subjects which are Mathematics, English language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Literature in English and Financial Accounting will be recorded and taught.

Mrs Adefisayo urged parents to keep their children indoors so as to attend the classes.

”Parents should ensure that their wards stay at home during this period and tune their radio or television sets to listen and catch Lagos sponsored teaching programmes,” the commissioner said.

She also advised students to observe basic hygiene.
