National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members engaged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as adhoc staff for the 2019 elections are threatening to boycott the rescheduled poll following their ordeal.

The corps member, who spoke to The Guardian said they were stranded without safety, food, accommodation and any allowance.

The treatment is a direct opposite of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NYSC and INEC, particularly guaranteeing the safety of the youths.

One of the Corps members, Akindipe (other withheld) described the situation as unfortunate.

The spokesperson for INEC, Rotimi Oyekanmi did not respond to enquiries on his phone and email.

The Guardian, Sunday 17, February.
