Court adjourns Naira Marley’s card fraud case

Naira Marley is still in EFCC detention after release of Zlatan Ibile, Rahman Jago

The card fraud case involving ‘Soapy’ crooner, Naira Marley which was brought before the Federal High Court in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been adjourned.

The case which came up for hearing on Tuesday was adjourned by Justice Nicholas Oweibo, though the date the trial was expected to take off was not announced.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo held that the case was adjourned to enable EFCC’s counsel Mr Rotimi Oyedepo and Naira Marley’s counsel Mr Olalekan Ojo SAN to respond to two motions.

Naira Marley was arrested on May 10 by the EFCC and he was subsequently charged to court on 11 counts of cyber crime by the anti-graft agency.

A suit marked FHC/L/178C/19 was filed before the Federal High Court in Lagos, against the singer who pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges levelled against him by the EFCC.
