Eseosasere Gift Osifo, 44, was on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court over alleged impersonation and fraud.

Osifo is said to have created a Facebook account using details of Professor Yemi Osunbajo, Vice President of Nigeria, to swindle unsuspecting victims.

The prosecutor, Onoche Ekwom, disclosed to the court that the suspect committed the offence between January and August before he was eventually arrested and brought to the court.

According to Ekwon, the suspect used the account to defraud unsuspecting victims on several occasions before he fell prey to the last victim which led to his arrest.

The offence contravened Sections 484 and 422 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
