Court denies Maina bail, remands him in prison

UNBELIEVABLE! No court order yet declaring Abdulrasheed Maina wanted

A Federal High Court in Abuja, on Friday ordered that the former chairman of the Pension Reforms Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, be remanded in prison custody.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned Maina before the court presided over by Justice Okon Abang on 12-count charges bordering on money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud.

Maina, when the charges were read out to him, pleaded not guilty. However, following the request of the EFCC, Justice Abang ordered that he be remanded in prison.

The judge then adjourned the matter till October 30 for trial and November 19 for suitability of Maina’s application for bail filed before arraignment.
