A Federal High Court in Abuja has given the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) the go ahead to arrest the ex-Niger Delta militant, Government Epemupolo also known as Tompolo.

The anti graft agency had been engaged in a cat and mouse game with the former militant over allegedly fraudulent sale of land for N13 billion to the last administration for the construction of a Nigerian Maritime University (NMU).

The court issued an official order for his arrest, after he failed to honour an invitation by EFCC for questioning claiming he was in court against the anti-graft agency.

He insists that transaction on the land was transparently done and that any question on the issue should be directed to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The bank accounts of his companies, Mieka Divers Ltd and Global West Vessel Specialists Nigeria Ltd, used for the payment of the N13 billion has been frozen by the EFCC.
