Father remanded in prison custody for defiling teenage daughters at knifepoint

A primary school teacher identified as Ebenezer Adeyeye will remain in prison custody pending more findings over his alleged rape of a five-year-old pupil.

The detention of the teacher was ordered by a magistrates’ court sitting in Okitipupa, in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Reports say the suspect was arrested by men of the Ondo State Police Command on November 7, 2018, after he was accused of defiling the unnamed pupil inside the school’s toilet in Okitipupa.

The police prosecutor, Mr Ayodeji Omoyegha said the offence committed by the accused who was arraigned on one count charge of rape contravened Section 358 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

After listening to the prosecutor, the magistrate, Mr O. Ogunfuyi who later adjourned the case till January 30, 2019, ordered the detention of the accused pending the outcome of the legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
