Court summons Buhari, DSS, others over plan to prosecute arrested judges

Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS) Mr. Lawal Daura, to appear before it to give reasons seven arrested judges should be prosecuted.

DSS had between October 7 and 8, during the wee hours of the morning, arrested seven judges on allegation of corrupt practices.

However, the court on Friday summoned President Buhari, Daura, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the National Judicial Council, (NJC), to appear before it on November 15 to give cause why the judges must be prosecuted.

They were all mentioned as respondents in a legal action charged before the high court by a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje.

While President Buhari may not be present in person, he will have to brief a lawyer to stand in for him before the court on that date.

The complainant had in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/809/16, applied for an order of perpetual injunction restraining the respondents from arresting, inviting, intimidating, or harassing any of the judges who were accused of corruption and whose homes were raided by the DSS.

Funny , I can’t stop laughing. So a judge want to see Mr President in the court over his colleagues arrest, thank God they didn’t mention the name of the judge who presided over the case. That judge and the lawyer will sleep in DSS custody soon.

The judges should help themselves and not let buhari and daura dishonour the judicial council. Olukoye Ogungbeje is fearless, everybody can not be intimidated
