Court throws out defamation lawsuit against Bill Cosby

A Pennsylvania federal judge has thrown out a defamation lawsuit filed against disgraced comedian, Bill Cosby by Renita Hill, one of the more than 50 women who have publicly accused Cosby of assault.

Judge Arthur J. Schwab sided with Cosby’s motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit, according to court records.

In the civil law suit filed by Hill in October, she alleged that the actor and his lawyer defamed her in the media.

The judge dismissed the three claims against Cosby, ruling that the statements “do not support a claim for defamation as defined by Pennsylvania law,” according to the ruling.
