COVID-19: 8,003 samples tested in Nigeria —NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday hinted that 8,003 samples have been tested of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria.

In NCDC’s Covid-19 situation report dated April 19, 2020, the centre said that 9,233 have been identified as ‘People of Interest’ with about 98 per cent now contacted.

The report further stated that 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) had reported at least one case of COVID-19.

It put the death rate of the dreaded disease at three per cent.

According to the data more men (70 per cent) had been infected in the country.

It added that the mostly affected age-group was the 31–40 bracket.
