COVID-19 cases in Nigeria now 51

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control Wednesday night confirmed six new coronavirus infections, bringing the number of cases in the country to 51.

The centre disclosed on its website and Twitter handle that two new cases were discovered in Lagos, two in Abuja and one each in Rivers and Osun States respectively.

It said: “On the 25th of March, 2020, six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria.

“Of the new six cases reported on March 25, two are in Lagos State, one is in Osun State, one in Rivers State, and two are in the Federal Capital Territory.

“All the new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving care.

“Three are returning travellers into Nigeria and two are close contacts of a confirmed case. As of 11:25 p.m. on 25th of March, there are 51 confirmed cases – two discharged and one death.”
