COVID-19: Gov Diri announces extension of stay-at-home order in Bayelsa

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has announced an extension of the stay-at-home order in the state by another week.

In a statement in Yenagoa, the state capital on Monday, through his acting Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, the governor said the extension started from from May 4, 2020.

The state also adopted the two weeks curfew between 8pm and 6am beginning from May 4, which was announced by President Muhammadu Buhari in a recent broadcast.

The statement read, “The curfew and compulsory use of face masks are in accordance with the presidential directive which are also in force in the state.

“Violators risk prosecution from the government.”
