The Kano State government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has reviewed its restrictions on public transportation over fears of the spread of the COVID-19 virus which has fast spread across the country.

Dr Baffa Dan’agundi, who leads the management of the Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), said that after a meeting with the state Commissioner for Transportation, Barr. M. S Lawal and other stakeholders, the Agency reviewed the restrictions.

While speaking with newsmen on Tuesday about the recent development, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, KAROTA Public Relations Officer, said that the new order now permits tricycle operators to carry two passengers at a time as against the earlier order which allowed for only a passenger.

However, he explained that “both passengers must wear face masks and the tricyclists must also wear a face mask and make provision for hand sanitizer for his passengers.
