COVID-19: Lagos heading towards total lockdown —Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said Friday his administration may be forced to lock down the state totally if the COVID-19 cases increased further.
The governor disclosed this after signing the Emergency Coronavirus Pandemic Bill 2020 into law at the State House, Marina.
The state House of Assembly had on Thursday passed the bill and forwarded it to the governor for his assent.
Sanwo-Olu, who addressed journalists shortly after signing the document, stressed that the state government was moving in the direction of the total lockdown of the state once a particular figure was arrived at.
However, he did not disclose the figure.

He said: “We are moving in the direction of curfew soon, there are numbers we need to see before that will happen. But we have not seen that yet.”
The governor had earlier unveiled an economic stimulus package for the vulnerable and indigents in the state to cushion the effects of various stringent measures put in place by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
