The Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad, Thursday described as false the claim that President Muhammadu Buhari and his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, have been flown abroad for medical treatment.
A voice note from an unidentified lady had claimed that President Buhari and Kyari, who tested positive for coronavirus were flown abroad on Wednesday night.
Bashir, who reacted to the claim on his Twitter handle -@BashirAhmaad – said the voice note was intentionally recorded to cause chaos and fear in Nigeria.
He said: “FAKE NEWS ALERT: The voice note that President @MBuhari and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari have been secretly flown out of the country is totally UNTRUE. It was intentionally recorded to cause chaos and fear in the country.”
