Criticisms from corrupt Nigerians won’t stop anti-graft war –-Presidency

The Presidency says that President Muhammadu Buhari will not be deterred in his administration’s fight against corruption by the criticism of those “whose illicit ways of accumulating money have been stopped.”

This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, which quoted the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, as making the comment during a Radio Nigeria programme in Kaduna.

“Let me say one thing. Those whose illicit ways of accumulating money have been stopped will criticise this government but all that will not derail the unfaltering commitment of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to the war against corruption,” he said.

According Shehu, Buhari has not forgotten that Nigerians voted for him massively in the 2015 presidential election because of his promise to fight corruption.

He said, “The President is aware that this was one of the main reasons why Nigerians in their millions put their trust in him; the main reason they voted him into power in 2015. To keep that trust of ordinary Nigerians who voted him into the office, he has vowed to give corruption a good fight. He will not let them down.”

Shehu however added, “Corruption has been fighting back vehemently, finding accomplices in various forms and guises. Nevertheless, the Buhari administration will not relent. Nothing will return our country to those sad, old days of wanton thievery that have plunged us into the economic mess from which Nigeria is currently recovering.

“The war against corruption in Nigeria is one of those clashes between good and evil, where good is determined to triumph.”

Garba further refuted claims that members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and appointees of the President were being spared in the anti-graft war of the Buhari’s administration.

Even shehu Garba himself is a thief. The president should make his fight against corruption general without sparing anyone both in his party and cabinet.

Do you expect Buhari to probe people of his political party, it’s not possible as if he tries that, he will lose his return ticket in the coming election.

    Shehu wipe your lips sir.
Corruption is happening under your noses and you claim you’re fighting it.

Money stolen from our coffer must be returned. I don’t care if the fight against corruption is one sided or not.

You should care my dear because the one-sided fight will soon reach your door step, by the time you’r directly affected by this bias fight, then, you will know how it feels to be cheated

By 2018, we shall determine whether Buhari-led administration fought corruption or just played on Nigerians’ intelligence, only time will tell

I refuse to agree with Garba Shehu, Buhari didn’t send him what he wrote. Buhari himself knows that the anti-corruption fight has been polluted and it is very bias. When fight against corruption is corrupt itself, only God can save Nigeria

Yes because corruption has come to stay in Nigeria and no body can change it except God intervain and put a stop to it

Amaechi, Buratai, Babachir Lawal, etc safely shielded by presidential coverage, and we are fighting corruption. Court orders openly flouted by the President, and we are fighting corruption. Right now, we don’t even know which is the anti graft agency, EFCC or DSS. Magu indicted by DSS report and rejected by a Senate that is largely peopled by rogues and touts. Lingering questions about the President’s academic credentials, blatant lies about a Senator’s academic degrees. I could go on. The point is: the so called anti graft war has become a huge joke to any right thinking person. It’s just hypocrisy every where.
