CROSS RIVER: APC accuses PDP of rigging, as police snatch election materials

The main opposition party in Cross River State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of engaging in election rigging.

In a tweet on its Twitter handle the APC said, “PDP Thugs destroying electoral materials in Ababene in Obubura LGA of Cross River State. Same thing happening across the entire state. We call on @inecnigeria & @PoliceNG to prevail.

“Rigging ongoing in Eunyia & Okubuchi wards in Boki LG of Cross River State, as PDP thugs hijacked materials,stabbed APC member. Affected PUs: 004, 005, 013, 016, 017, 018, & 019.

‏”Massive rigging ongoing in favor of the PDP in units 003, 004, 007, 008, ward 4 & almost every other ward in Calabar South LGA of Cross River State. The attention of the @PoliceNG & @inecnigeria needed urgently.”

There is also a report from the state that election materials for Inyima Ward were allegedly snatched by armed police officers.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Ben Ayade and his wife peacefully casted their vote during the election at Ipong polling unit, Kakum ward in Cross River State.
