Cross River to get defence, foreign affairs commissioners

Governor of Cross River State and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, Ben Ayade, has appointed Dr Odey Oyama, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), as the interim chairman of the state anti-deforestation task-force.

Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the governor on media and publicity, Mr Christian Ita, announced this in a statement he made available to newsmen.

Ita, who said that the appointment was with immediate effect, added that approval of the interim task-force was to enforce the anti-deforestation policy of the PDP government in Cross River State.

He said, “The new interim task-force has Dr Odey Oyama as chairman with the 18 Heads of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) as members.
