The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has granted private jet owners an additional month to pay import duty on illegally imported aircraft, extending the verification exercise to November 14, 2024.

This move aims to provide operators who have expressed willingness to regularize their import duties with more time to comply with regulations.

According to Abdullahi Maiwada, Customs Spokesperson, “The NCS is committed to ensuring that all illegally imported aircraft meet the legal requirements, thereby promoting transparency and accountability in the aviation sector.”

Maiwada emphasized that the extension was designed to engage operators further and provide them with an additional window to fulfill their obligations.
