Sports Festival preparations hit top gear as Dalung inaugurates committee

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung, has told the home-based Super Eagles to satisfy Nigerians by bringing home the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) trophy.

The Eagles beat the Sudanese 1-0 on Wednesday night in a semifinal encounter at the Stade de Marrakech, and set up a clash with host nation Morocco in the final.

Dalung expressed his excitement for the team and millions of football-loving Nigerians that are rooting for the Salisu Yusuf’s men to succeed in Morocco, and encouraged them to go all out and shock Morocco.

“I am so excited about this team and millions of football loving Nigerians who are rooting for the team to succeed in Morocco. They have shown that they are a work in progress as they continue to improve with every game.

“With Nigerians always wanting to win, bringing the title home will be the perfect way to satisfy Nigerians,” the Minister said.

Both Nigeria and Morocco are reaching the final of the CAF competition for the first time, and they will lock horns in Sunday’s final as the Eagles will hope to make another history in Casablanca.
