Dangote drivers allegedly loot 3.5million tyres, 285 declared wanted

In what sounds like a tale of the bizarre, Dangote truck drivers have allegedly looted 3.5million tyres belonging to the company, with 285 of them now declared wanted.

These facts were made known by the Coordinator of the company’s National Patrol Unit, Abdullahi Magaji, while addressing media men on Sunday in Lokoja.

Noting that each tyre of the company had codes on them, Magaji said such tracking systems made it easy to pin down culprit drivers.

”Already, 285 drivers identified to have collected 285 tyres have been declared wanted while a number of others are on the run.

”…We have stopped their salaries and we are looking for them. So far, about 3.5 million tyres are missing from the company and we believe they are in circulation within and outside the country. We are determined to recover them, ” he said.

Magaji added that security agents were on the trail of an identified kingpin who comes to Obajana and Kano to buy the tyres off the drivers.

The identity of the kingpin was not revealed by Magaji, just as the period within which the 3.5 million tyres were allegedly looted was also not stated.

The problem businesses face in Nigeria is that most employees are students of Good luck Jonathan: they believe stealing is not corruption.

When some people are looking for jobs, some have the job and are still misbehaving. Dangote should make sure they all provide the tyres and sack them immediately the tyres are completely found

Sure, he can’t retain such people again. They have dented their own image as well as their family’s image. Those culprits will languish in prison when found.
