Feelers from the EFCC, suggest that a former minister of finance, Mrs Nenadi Usman has offered to refund part of the N2.5 billion funds she received in the run-up to the 2015 elections.

Usman who has spent four days in the custody of the anti graft agency was said to have agreed to return an unspecified sum of money from the funds she was alleged to have received from the CBN on orders from the Office of the National Security Adviser, under Dasuki Sambo.

Mrs Usman who was Director of Finance for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Organisation, reportedly received N2.5 billion from the N4 billion that was released from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

A source at the EFCC told Ripples Nigeria that she would be allowed to regain her freedom on administrative bail once the money has been received.

She was arrested on Monday by the commission on Monday on claims that she had access to huge amounts of money in the heat of the 2015 general elections which were unaccounted for from government coffers.
