Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea played at a high level for his side as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in a Premier League clash on Sunday.

The goalkeeper made a couple of great saves to deny Spurs from getting any point from the thrilling Wembley encounter.

According to stats company, OptaJoe, the Spaniard made 11 saves – the most saves he has made in a top-flight league match without conceding a goal.

After over 40 minutes of back and forth by both sides, Paul Pogba was able to look up and send a superb cross to Marcus Rashford who fired in.

The visitors then held on to the lead and claimed their sixh consecutive win since the arrival of new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Speaking after the victory, Solskjaer had this to say about De Gea: “Fantastic. Obviously when you make 11 saves it is a top performance, but even so, two of them were top saves but the rest you would expect David to make.”

He added: “We defended well as a team and when you play against Harry Kane you are always going to be tested. It was just a complete team performance.

“I know why I am here and I know what my job description is, and I’m doing what I can to help the team. We expect to win every game at Man United.”

The result leaves Spurs nine points behind leaders Liverpool and United level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal as they revive their top-four hopes.
