IMO GUBER: Uzodinma has tough words for Okorocha

Defeated governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma, who came fourth in the March 9 poll, has denied celebrating with the governor elect and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Emeka Ihedioha.

A video trending on social media had shown Ihedioha and Uzodinma allegedly celebrating the outcome of the Imo governorship election result at the home of the APC candidate.

But in a statement in Owerri on Thursday through his director of media and special duties, Declan Emelumba, Uzodinma denied the video and news of him celebrating with Ihedioha.

He claimed that the purported video showing him hugging Ihedioha were clips from the wedding reception of Charles Amadi’s (Chavon) daughter, which was held in his house in New Owerri over two weeks ago.

“There is no truth in the video and news trending in the social media that the governor-elect, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the APC governorship candidate, Sen Hope Uzodinma were celebrating the defeat of out-going governor, Rochas Okorocha’s dynasty in Uzodinma’s country home shortly after the announcement of the governorship election result.

“The purported video showing the duo hugging are clips from the wedding reception of Charles Amadi’s (Chavon) daughter which was held in his house in New Owerri over two weeks ago.

“The truth is that there has been no meeting between Uzodinma and Ihedioha since the governorship election. Bedsides, the APC as a party in Imo State has officially rejected the results because it has uncontroverted evidence that Uzodinma won the election. There can therefore be no celebration of any sort when justice has not been served,” the statement of denial read.
