Just a day after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari in London, the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio reportedly met with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Monday.
The official Twitter handle of the APC, @APCNigeria, tweeted a photograph of the two men on Monday with a message: “Update: Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio meets APC Leader, Bola Tinubu, in Abuja this afternoon. Both Men are in consultation a day after the PDP Senator met with President Buhari in London ahead of his planned defection to the APC”.
It would be recalled that Akpabio, had reportedly met Tinubu in Lagos before jetting out to London to meet with President Buhari, who is currently on a 10 day vacation in London.
Before then, Akpabio had met with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, in what is believed as fine tuning arrangements for his defection.
The former Akwa Ibom State governor has however not denied nor confirmed his imminent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.
