Dele Alli, Harry Winks inspire Spurs’ comeback win over Fulham

Dele Alli and Harry Winks scored to complete an incredible comeback victory for Tottenham Hotspur against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs, who were without star striker Harry Kane, fell behind in the 17th minute when when Fernando Llorente scored an own goal.

Trailing from the break, the visitors responded and drew level six minutes after the interval when Alli headed in a pin-point Christian Eriksen cross past Sergio Rico.

Alli was however injured, and it piles up worries for Tottenham in their race for the title.

Both sides missed several chances, as it looked like they would share the spoils.

But Winks completed the comeback in the 93rd minute when he stooped low to meet Georges-Kevin Nkoudou’s cross and break Fulham’s resistance.

”It was an unbelievable finish. That’s why it is so important to believe.

“The action is brilliant from Harry Winks, to recover the ball from a difficult position, he believes to score and arrive in the box. It was an amazing cross from Nkoudou.

“Sometimes in football, it is not tactics or formation, you have to believe,” Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino said after the game.

His side remain in third after then win, nine points behind leaders Liverpool.

Fulham stay in 19th, seven points from safety.
