Farotimi is facing a 16-count charge related to the alleged defamation. The accusations stem from claims that his recently published book, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System, contains statements that malign and defame the character of Afe Babalola.

Details of the specific defamatory statements were not disclosed at the time of reporting. However, the case has drawn public attention, with observers closely following the legal proceedings.

Farotimi’s legal team is expected to respond to the charges as the trial unfolds, and the court will determine the merits of the case.
