DELTA GUBER POLL: APC's Ogboru files petition against Gov Okowa's victory

Ruling in the petition by Great Ogboru against Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has been reserved by the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

Ogboru, the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) and his party are challenging the emergence of Okowa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate as winner of the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.

According to Ogboru and his party, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) erred by declaring Okowa as the winner of the election.

At the tribunal sitting in Asaba, counsels to the respective parties in the matter on Wednesday, adopted their final written addresses.

But after hearing the addresses, the three-man tribunal, led by Justice Suleiman Belgore, decided to adjourn the petition sine die.

It however assured the concerned parties that they would be communicated at least 24 hours before judgement.

Okowa is the first respondent in the petition while the PDP and INEC are joined as second and third respondents, respectively.
