The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the first Democracy Day celebrated on June 12 as another great feat achieved by President Muhammadu Buhari’sgovernment.

In a statement by its publicity secretary, Lanre Issa- Onilu , on Wednesday, the party claimed with the Democracy Day now being marked on June 12, that Buhari administration has “demonstrated its avowed commitment to correct past injustices and celebrate heroes and heroines that paid the supreme sacrifice for the democratic freedom that we all cherish and enjoy today.”

APC said, “Today ’s celebration is not only significant in the annals of our political history but also momentous in all ramifications .

“In correcting past injustices, the APC-led government is also committed to equitable administration of our commonwealth for the benefit of all Nigerians.”

Noting that democracy is the most representative system of government world over, the ruling party called on Nigerians to see that democracy is always protected in the country for the good of all.

“The world over, democracy in its various forms and with its inevitable imperfections , remains the most representative system of government.
