Despite corruption allegations Buhari says Dogara reinforces his faith in youths

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, for always putting Nigeria’s interest above every other thing.

The President stated this on Sunday in Abuja in a statement to mark the Speaker’s 50th birthday anniversary.

The commendation is coming on the heels of allegations of corruption made by a former chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin who accused Dogara and some principal officers of the House of padding the 2016 budget to the tune of billions of naira.

While the presidency had kept mum over the allegations, Jibrin had petitioned the EFCC, DSS and police, and called for investigations.

He also alleged that members of the House under the leadership of Dogara quietly collect huge sums of money as running costs, which are unaccounted for.

He was however suspended from the house for 180 days, and has since left the country taking refuge in London.

President Buhari however, noted that he was impressed with Dogara’s rising political career and his leadership style at his relatively young age, adding that the Speaker’s performance had reinforced his confidence in the country’s youth.

Buhari in a statement Sunday night by his Senior Special Assistant to the President
(Media and Publicity) said “With Dogara’s performance as Speaker, fears that the country’s younger politicians have been pushed into background are unfounded,” the President said, adding that his administration would always encourage the younger generation.

President Buhari said that he was optimistic of closer working relationship with the legislature in order to fast track the implementation of critically important national policies and programmes.

Buhari is just a camouflage . he is corrupt himself just that he has used integrity to cover our faces that we would never admit he is corrupt. If not , I never expected him to have kept mute over dogara’s alleged budget padding

That’s the best buhari did to applaud dogara if he must survive his political tenure beyond 2019.

Buhari is just another version of Obasanjo who will tell lies when he’s expected to speak the truth. This Old Buhari isn’t helping the country, he is corrupt himself.

We don’t see things the same way. Jibrin may have successfully tarnished Dogara’s image in the public by using the press to publicize negative comments, but what about the other good aspects of Dogara that the press are not reporting?
