Despite meeting bail condition, Dasuki to spend New Year with DSS

Respite seem to be far from coming for the embattled former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, as operatives of the Department of the State Service have re-arrested him.

Dasuki was was re-arrested at the gate of Kuje Prison, Abuja, as he was about leaving the prison after meeting the bail conditions set for him by a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja.

It will be the third time Dasuki will be meeting bail conditions set him by different courts only to have them scuttled by the DSS.

Justice Ademola Adeniyi had first granted Dasuki bail and also granted him leave to travel abroad for medicals but the DSS prevented him, Laying siege on his Asokoro residence for days until he was finally taken into custody.

Counsel for Dasuki , Mr Ahmed Raji (SAN), while confirming the development,  said the former NSA had met all the bail conditions given by Justice Affem, regretting that the court order was not obeyed by the operatives of the DSS.

He said: “He was re-arrested by the operatives of the DSS and whisked away to an unknown destination.

“He met the bail conditions set for him by the judge, but as he was stepping outside the prison, he was arrested.”

It is yet unclear where he was taken to.
