'Devil' pushes 28-yr-old pastor's aide to defile 3-yr-old minor

Bethel Samuel, 28, an aide of a pastor who oversees a new generation church in the Port Harcourt area has been arrested by security operatives from the Rumuolumini Police Station after he forcefully had carnal knowledge of a three-year-old girl.

After he was picked up by security operatives, Samuel confessed while being interrogation that he did not know what came over him when he decided to defile the girl who is reported to be the daughter of one of the pastor’s neighbours.

“I am the personal assistant to my pastor at Divine Assembly. We were organising a crusade. We went out to paste the crusade posters when my pastor called me. He directed me to go to his house and bring some money. It was there that I saw the children playing around. I grabbed one of them and that was what happened.

“It was purely the handiwork of the devil.” Samuel said.

Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, the Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer, revealed that three-year-old victim had been taken to the hospital for treatment while Samuel who was handed over to the police by relatives of the victim who raised an alarm would be charged to court as soon as investigations into the case were concluded.
