DINO: Dramatic In No Order

Police begins investigation into Melaye’s ‘kidnap’

By Todimu Ogunade….

Senator of the eighth National Assembly, Dino Melaye has carved a ‘’niche’’ that rings so loudly in my subconscious mind. Ignoble and professionally corrupt, Melaye has inspired a flame that shamefully burns. Political thespian of Kogi state, Melaye adorns himself with ‘’corrupt truths.’’

You have not stayed put neither have you spoken the truth. You have remained on the fence with perjury hovering over your head. You have carted away morals and dignified your soul with mettle pretenses. You have made the media your platform for public ridicule…I marvel at your theatrical skills. You are neither hot nor cold…dramatic in no order. You own fleet of cars from lambos to feraris and have raised many brows yet you throttle with shameless pride.

Nemesis they say catches up really fast and whatever goes around comes around says karma. Time and time again, you have ignored the horns of military guns and scampered for safety to hide your head. The law is catching up with you… there is no way of escape. You have been running and you are still on the run. How long will you keep running? How long will you keep hiding? Your “area” goons have vanished into thin air and your loved ones have disappeared. The media is your stage, the people have reduced your image to public ridicule. You are dramatic in no order. Several memes have been displayed and enacted to your pleasure. You are headed for doom.

Tick Tock! The clock is ticking away. You hear the sound of sirens blasting the air. You lay fearfully crouched in a corner in your ‘’Abuja mansion’’ with an inhaler in your mouth. The warm air suddenly becomes cold. The weather suddenly becomes humid. You are running out of time and out of breath. Your gate man screams as he is being scuffled by a hefty military guard. His shrill cry sends fear down your spine. You suddenly feel a large lump in your throat. You try to scream but you cannot find your voice. Your loved ones are gone and you are left with your fate.

Now is the time to set the stage. You have always been good at it. Your theatrical skills have always been one to marvel at. You are Dramatic in No Order. Thump! thump! The knock rings louder and a command is issued. The military men take positions in nooks and crannies but you remain uncanny, unmoved and equally prepared. They burst through your barricaded wall and whisk you away…commando style and the show begins. You have rehearsed countless times and you own the script.

At the ward you lay face up uncertain and unsure about the play out of events. The internet chanting your name. The media is screaming your name. This is the last straw. How long will you keep running? How long will you keep hiding? The tests results have proved negative and you are perfectly whole. The court room is set. Set the stage again.
