Divers find body of boy after Disney alligator attack
16 hours after an alligator snatched at 2-year-old child in its jaws and dragged him underwater at the Walt Disney World beach leisure centre, divers have found the body of the boy identified as Lane Graves.
The recovery of the Nebraska boy who was taking a stroll with his father at one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations now ends a ghastly search hours after authorities first got the call that a reptile had taken the boy from the water’s edge at Seven Seas Lagoon despite his father’s frantic attempt to save the child.
Reports say an autopsy was now planned with Sheriff Jerry Demings informing that it appears the alligator pulled the child into deeper water and drowned him, leaving the body near the spot where he was last seen.
“Of course the family was distraught, but also I believe somewhat relieved that his body was found intact,” Demings told a news conference.
