Djokovic beats Mannarino to reach Wimbledon quarter-finals

World no. 4 Novak Djokovic reached the last-8 of Wimbledon Open with a straight-set victory over Adrian Mannarino on Tuesday.

In the match, which was postponed from Monday following Rafa Nadal and Gilles Muller’s four hour and 48 minute tie, the Serb beat his French opponent 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 in two hours and 13 minutes.

Djokovic received treatment on his right shoulder during the match, and told reporters after the win that it’s something that has been “dragging back and forth for a while, but I am still managing to play.”

The 30-year-old will face Czech 11th seed Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals.

As it stands, out of the ‘big four’, only world no. 2 Nadal has crashed out of the All England Club tournament, after falling to Muller on Monday.

While defending champion Andy Murray will face 24th seed Sam Querrey on Wednesday in the last-8, Roger Federer will face Canada’s Milos Raonic, as the race for the title is still wide open.
