Dogara's view on SIP irresponsible, anti-masses —Pro-Buhari group

Nigeria’s notable whistle blower and suspended former House of Representatives Appropriation Committee chairman, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has suggested that Speaker Yakubu Dogara may have lied over his payment slip released on Tuesday.

Following the challenge between Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Dogara over making public the earnings of the governors and National Assembly members, the governor on Monday published his state financial budget and called on the Speaker to do same.

In his response, Dogara published his salary payslip that puts his take home pay at about N402, 500 per month.

But reacting in a series of tweets on his twitter handle on Wednesday, Jibrin said “if what I saw is the authentic pay slip of Mr Speaker, it means I earn more than him from what I see in my salary statement of account.”

The tweets read, “I will make few comments on the response of Speaker Dogara to El Rufai and as usual using the institution of the House as cover.

“As regard NASS budget, I completely agree with paragraph 9, 10 and 11 but will raise issues on paragraph 5, 6, and the pay slip. The statement failed to address the call by Nigerians and majority of members for Mr Speaker to disclose details of our internal budget

“Beside salaries, allowances and running cost, no member has details of about 20 other expenditure heads captured in Namdas statement. I am aware majority of members feel terribly embarrassed and are presently insisting on having access to the internal budget of the House.

“The details of INEC budget does not just “exist elsewhere”. The NASS scrutinizes and approve details of INEC budget every year. Mr Speaker, you know that NILS HQ is not completely funded from NASS allocation but part funded by FG under service wide vote.

“If Mr Speaker is saying ‘ budget disclosure’ commences 2017, Nigerians will never see details of how a trillion was spent in last 10 years? It’s no favour to Nigerians disclosing details of budget. In fact, it is a criminal offense to refuse even members copy of their budget.

“I have requested for my pay slip from NASS, I will publish it and my monthly salary statement of account. Perhaps I have been over paid.

“I have so much comment to make on 2017 budget which I will release before the budget is transmitted to Mr President, God grace”, he tweeted.

Jibrin has remained suspended following allegations of corruption he levelled against principal members of the House, which lawmakers argued amounted to anti-house activity, hence the decision to suspend him.

El Rufai and Dogara are making a movie for Nigerians to see. Both are pranking us. They are not in any way enemies but just trying to make us see that Apc government does not pay hugely like pdp. Both of them salary is jumbo enough to feed 105,000 Nigerians monthly.

They are only being stupid and displaying their mess. Our senate won’t stop being a comedy house.

All politicians are liars! None of them, even our great whistle blower cannot make public his actual pay slip.

It still surprises me why our lawmakers are still corrupt. With their status and good pay of over half a million naira with other allowances, corruption is not supposed to have a place in their hearts.

Jibril has laughed over the fake pay slip the idiot Dogara detailed to us. He thought we are aboki like him. A member of Lagos State House of Assembly earns nothing less than #750k per month, so a federal legislator like speaker says #402k. Na thunder go strike his family.
