Dogara meets Buhari inside Aso Rock again

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Presidential Villa Abuja.

The Speaker has now met President Buhari for the second time since allegation of budget padding was levelled against him and some principal officers by Abdulmumin Jibrin, former Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Appropriation.

However, Dogara, when accosted by State House correspondents, failed to say reason for his visit but only said, “I am on holiday.”

Asked when the House will resume, he said that journalists were present when the House of Representatives adjourned.

More probing by journalists on whether his visit was part of efforts aimed at mending fences with the President, the Speaker pointed to one of the lawmakers that accompanied him and said, “This man is a Senator from Bauchi State. He is not from the House of Representatives.”
