Dokpesi makes U-turn, accepts convention outcome, congratulates Secondus

After his earlier position kicking against the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention, founder of Daar Communications, Raymond Dokpesi, has accepted the outcome of the election and congratulated Uche Secondus who emerged the party’s national chairman.

Dokpesi, one of the contenders in the election, had initially criticised the process of the convention that took place in Abuja last Saturday, but said, while reversing his earlier position, that because he had always believed that the party would be the “ultimate winner,” he had no option but to congratulate the winner.

He said in his congratulatory message that, “Ì appreciate the delegates for voting at the convention and congratulate the newly elected National Working Committee of the PDP led by Secondus.

“You will recall that I said that the PDP must be the ultimate winner at the end of the contest. God bless the Peoples Democratic Party. Congratulations PDP as I wish all our members the best of luck.”

This is coming as Secondus promised to ensure that the PDP under his leadership strictly adhere to internal democracy with a deliberate policy to return ‘real’ power to the people.
