Don’t apologise to Tinubu, Kogi women tell Melaye

A group of women under the aegis of Kogi Women Support Dino (KWSD), on Tuesday called on Senator Dino Melaye not to apologise to Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The women instead said that Tinubu representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, should be the one to apologise to Melaye for calling him a ‘dog’.
This is coming as the name calling incident involving the two senators during the Senate close-door section last week has continued to take different forms and shapes.
At the weekend, rights group, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, (WARDC) had asked Melaye to apologise to Tinubu or risk an “Occupy National Assembly” by well-meaning Nigerians.
It was followed by some women from three senatorial districts in Lagos state, under the aegis of Concerned Group, last Monday calling on the Federal Government to order relevant security agencies to initiate criminal charges against Melaye if he fails to publicly apologise to Tinubu, for purportedly threatening to beat her up and other foul words he used in describing her.
On Monday also, Sen Tinubu had petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, that Melaye threatened her life on the floor of the Senate last week, adding that the former member of the House of Representatives has a penchant for violence as he had engaged in fisticuffs with his colleagues when he was in the lower chamber between 2007 and 2011.
Melaye also alleged on Tuesday, that Senator Oluremi Tinubu has hired women with N75million to protest against him on Wednesday (tomorrow) in Abuja.
He (Melaye), also posted photos of his visit to Lagos, in what some say was to incite the Lagos senator.
