DPO arrested in Rivers for allegedly conspiring to allow ritual killer escape

The case of the fugitive ritual killer Ifeanyi Dike, who killed an eight-year-old for alleged money ritual and escaped police custody is still gathering steam as an unnamed Divisional Police Officer in Rivers State has been arrested for conspiring to aid the escape of the ritualist who is now at-large.

Reports say the arrest of the DPO was made on the orders of the State Police Command after it was determined that he connived with Johnbosco Okoroeze, (a dismissed police sergeant) to allow Dike escape police custody.

A police source with information on the matter said there is enough evidence to believe that the DPO was working hand in hand with the ex-sergeant, who has been remanded in police custody.

“Even the father of the girl that was killed had said that there was communication with the IPO (dismissed sergeant) handling the matter and somebody that has not been disclosed. This happened while they were bringing the suspected ritual killer to the State Police Headquarters.

“All these and many more will serve as evidence against the DPO, who we believe has a lot to explain about his possible involvement in the escape of Ifeanyi Dike, who killed an eight-year-old boy, ostensibly for money ritual”, the source stated.

Five days ago, Sergeant Johnbosco Okoroeze, the cop under whose watch Dike escaped from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Port Harcourt was been dismissed and arraigned in court by the police.

His dismissal and arraignment was ordered by the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Zaki, for criminal conspiracy.

You’re correct. Some DPOs go to the extent of freeing criminals by exchanging criminals with innocent people in the cell. The Federal Government’s attention should be brought to this act of the Nigeria Police, it should not be tolerated in Nigeria

The case is simple, they should jail him an the ritual killer together. And there should be no waste of time in sending them to law court for death sentence. Anybody working with a ritual killer deserves to be killed with the killer
