The furore over child trafficking allegations leveled against ‘Dami Duro’ crooner, Davido and his family is yet to simmer with Sophie Momodu (Davido’s babymama) writing a petition after discovering that her child was to be flown to Dubai without her consent for Intensive Medicals by Coco Adeleke (Davido’s elder sister) who is in custody of the child in question.

Backed by her uncle, Dele Momodu, Sophie petitioned the Adelekes in a letter through her lawyer addressed to the Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) accusing Davido and his family members of “attempted child trafficking and abduction of Miss Aurora Imade Adeleke (Davido’s daughter)”.

Trouble started when Sophie was deceived into visiting Coco at her residence for a get-together.

On getting to the house on Baderinwa Alabi Street, Lekki Phase I, Lagos, Sophie’s baby was allegedly forcefully taken from her and she was thrown out of the premises with threat that she would be decisively dealt with if she ever bothered to return there.

Reports say Sophie returned the next day but she was prevented from entering Coco’s residence by armed policemen in the premises and her survival instinct prevailed on her to make her leave her breast suckling baby behind.

With so much pain in her heart, Sophie turned to her uncle, Dele Momodu who was able to broker a meeting with Dr. Adeleke (Davido’s father). The meeting was attended by Sophie, her mother, Coco who later brought in her baby, Dr. Adeleke and two of his friends namely: His Majesty Oba Adedokun Abolarin and Mr. Wale Adeeyo.

During the meeting, Dr. Adeleke revealed why they have chosen to take custody of the child saying the baby was discovered to have traces of Marijuana in her during medical tests and said he believed Davido and Sophie were smokers and he needed to protect the child from two irresponsible parents.

He also stated during the meeting that the baby would be under temporary custody and observation while also promising Sophie a monthly upkeep and a car to calm her.

But Sophie has been forced to draw the line by petitioning the Adeleke’s after she discovered that her baby had been ferried to Dubai without her consent by Coco for Intensive Medicals.

Dele Momodu also took to Twitter to express his displeasure over the incident which threatens to get messier as days go by.

“No one, no matter how wealthy or powerful has the right to forcefully detach a baby from her mum… Nigeria is not that lawless.” He tweeted.

Davido who himself has been silent over the issues broke the ice, when he posted comments on twitter saying; “I leave them for God. I don’t deserve this s***… All I have ever done is love that baby.”
