Jason Dalton, 45, an Uber driver accused of killing six people last month has said the app controlled him ‘like a puppet’ forcing him to go on the shooting spree.

He is alleged to have gone on the murder spree in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on February 20, accepting ride fares through Uber in between the shootings.

According to reports based on official police documents, shortly after his arrest Dalton told officers the app acted ‘like artificial intelligence that can tap into your body’

He went on to describe how he believed the Uber app within his iPhone was able to control him at various points in the evening by changing a symbol on his screen from ‘black to red’.

Website The Register, said Dalton told police he only vaguely remembered the shootings and never attempted to aim his gun.

He claimed the ‘mind control’ activity of the app began as soon as he downloaded the software.

‘Dalton said that the thing that is scary to him right now is that Dalton isn’t sure how much he had or hadn’t done,’ the police report said.

Jason is suspected of killing six strangers and seriously injuring two others.
