Super Eagles and Lille forward, Victor Osihmen has revealed how Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba was his idol while growing up.

The 20-year-old, who has started his career in France on a very bright note, spoke with France Football, said he intends to mould his game around the former Ivory Coast international.

Drogba joined Chelsea from Marseille and played 254 times in his nine-year spell.

He scored 104 goals, lifting four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three Football League Cups, two Community Shields and one Champions League title.

Osimhen also said he is looking forward to meeting his idol someday.

“Didier Drogba, that’s my idol. In every sense of the term. For everything. The man, of course, and also the player he was,” Osimhen said.

“I grew up watching him. Still today, I’m addicted to his videos when I’m resting.

“In my free time, I go on YouTube, I look at his goals, his whole matches when he played in Marseille, Chelsea and Galatasaray.

“Unfortunately, I have not yet had the chance to meet him. I cannot wait to meet him one day. It would be a moment that would stay in my heart forever. And I would take advantage of it to take advice!”

Osimhen was in action for Lille in their 1-1 draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday.

He is expected to feature in this weekend’s Ligue 1 clash against Bordeaux.
