The Department of State Services, DSS, has arrested 10 kidnappers who were dressed in military uniform in Kogi State.
The kidnappers were said to be part of the gang that have been terrorising the state in recent times.
Four of the arrested kidnappers were paraded in Lokoja in full military gear by the Director of the Kogi State Command of DSS, Mr. Joseph Okpo.
According to Okpo, six of the suspected kidnapers were arraigned in court on Tuesday, adding that the service also arrested four members of a six-man gang that had been operating along Abuja-Lokoja highway.
Okpo said the suspects – Haruna Saleh, Kabiru Shuaibu, Mumuni Adamu and Tukur Shuaibu – confessed to different crimes.
He also disclosed that the suspects were already giving very good lead on the source of their uniform.
The DSS state boss further disclosed that from their investigation, most of the kidnappers operating in the state were non-residents, lamenting that they were simply taking advantage of the geographical location and the route structure of the state.
