D’Tigers arrive China, final FIBA W’Cup squad to be announced next Tuesday

Nigeria men’s basketball team, D’Tigers have arrived China for the last phase of their FIBA World Cup preparations.

The team which departed Lagos through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport aboard Emirate Airline arrived in China on Wednesday night.

They proceeded to Yangzhou for the Peak Invitational International tournament scheduled to hold between the August 22nd and 31st.

The coach Alex Nwora tutored side, with 15 players still in camp 8 days to the World Cup starting on August 31, will compete against fellow world cup bound Iran, Montenegro and Poland as they perfect their plans.

Nwora revealed that the final 12-man list will be released after their Peak Invitational campaign on the 27th before their first game against Russia on Saturday, 31st of August.

Nigeria whose last appearance at the world cup was 2006 are grouped alongside Russia, Argentina and Korea.
