D’Tigers end FIBA W’Cup qualifying campaign with defeat to Senegal

Nigeria men’s Basketball team, D’Tigers ended their FIBA World Cup qualifying campaign with a defeat to Senegal in Abidjan on Sunday.

However, the Nigerian men already qualified for the 2019 tournament billed to hold in China.

D’Tigers lost the match by 84-63 to wrap up a rather disappointing round of the campaign, losing two of their three matches.

Nigeria were beaten by hosts Cote d’ivoire on Friday but bounced back on Saturday to win against Central African Republic (CAF) before the Senegal defeat.

The Alex Nwora side won 10 out of 12 games played in the campaign.

The 2019 FIBA World Cup finals will begin on Saturday, 31 August and end on Sunday, 15 September, 2019 in China.
